Natural paradise

Lech is worth a trip not only during the winter months. Proof for this are numerous awards this little village in the Walser valley has received over the last few years, such as the “Most beautiful community in the Vorarlberg area” in 2000 and the “Most beautiful village in Europe” in 2004.

Every year, more people join the international fan community of this former mountain farmer village at the foot of the Arlberg. And there’s a good reason for this: Despite its cosmopolitanism and real hospitality, Lech has been able to retain its village charm. And outside of the village, the beautiful Arlberg natural paradise offers everything you could desire. blooming alpine meadows, fragrant woods, rushing wild creeks, clear mountain lakes and—of course—majestic mountains.

Hiking in the natural preserve

Over 150 miles of marked hiking trails, conveniently accessible by cable car, chair lifts and hiking busses fulfill every imaginable wish.
A must-see is the educational hiking trail through the “gypsum holes”, a collection of rare rock formations. In the remains of what once was a lagoon, it is not unusual to find fossils. A rare beauty and an easy hike is the “Auenfelder Sattel” and the Körbersee natural preserve.
